Tekken UK Major

I attended the biggest Tekken tournament in the uk this year which was held in london (aug 17th) and it was awesome! Competitors from all over the UK attended and even as far as europe (sweden) which told you it was as the title suggested; a "Major" event.

What i like about the hosts (360GAMINGUK) is that the owner (joe) creates mini events before and after the start of main event to get the players and community hyped and give unheard players a chance to prove there worth.

The main event did take longer then planned to start but once it got started it was hoyyypee!
The finals was as tense as ever. People were rooted for the underdog moments of  game-breaking silence occurred and leaned forward off their seats in hope. It was that tense.

After the main event there were a couple of extra events where people were give chances to win prizes. Me and my team beat team sweden who were really formidable opponents.

The tourney i feel should've been cheaper if not free for spectators. That way the venue would've been filled with a lot more and have a mix of audiences as well as sex's. Nonetheless 360GAMINGUK still pulled off a great show.

To me the major showed how united us, the Tekken community are when we all have the same intentions. To play Tekken and have fun. We are most definable heading in a positive direction.

Rather than a tourney; the vibe to me was positive and very social. Everyone was enjoying speaking, meeting  each other and just having good games. It was a success!

The H.O.G: London SVB event (sat) 2013

SVB is a pretty huge video game tourney event hosted in london every year. I heard that it was happening at The Heart of Gaming ( a place where i usually go to meet some friends and play some vidyagamess!!) and i was pretty much free Saturday so i decided to check it out.

The moment i walked in i was amazed at the turnout. Never in my time at the H.O.G (since its grand opening) have i seen so many people there. Especially due to the late announcement of SVB.The games were announced like a day b4 the event but that didn't stop the hoard of gamers. I was looking for space to play, lol and baffled at the amount of people there so early but we all had the same intentions i guess. To have fun playing games and enjoy it offline with the people around us.

The influx of players were mainly from the super smash bro's community as a smash bro's tourney was hosted on the day.I never knew there was such a huge smash bro's community to be honest. They made other fighting game communities (persona 4 arena, tekken, blazblue etc) look like a friends last minute get together where no one really turns up in the end. Not to say that the communities in the brackets are inferior; they just still have some shaping and moulding to be done.

As the day went by i started to see a lot more women coming in and jamming on a 3ds, eating, playing dance games etc without any signs of uncomfortableness. It was purely GENUINE. It's good to see that woman aren't gonna leave all the fun to the guy's and quite refreshing.

All in all it was a very hectic, fun day. Got some great sleep after the day was over :),

Filming @ Hyper Japan (July) 2013

Since i was busy on friday i decided to go to the London Hyper Japan event on saturday. I still didn't know all the capabilities of my camera and my stabilizer but i couldn't miss this opportunity to put my tools as well as myself to the test.

My main objective was to find awesome cosplayers to film for a cosplay vid i have been planning on creating for a while now. There were a lot more cosplayers than i expected there since the event isn't a cosplay event but a japanese culture event but how i was wrong.
So many awesome cosplay's for my camera to go to town with. So much variety and striking costumes.I couldn't miss out on filming any.

In the early hours of filming i also bumped into Queens of Winn's videographer Nathaniel. Queens of Winn are a well known team who film cosplay events here in london. I have been watching their vids for a while now. Even before i started videography.Nathaniel is the videographer of Queens of Winn so he isn't seen the vids much. I spotted a dude with similar equipment to me and we were like twins; equipment wise, hahaha. I only knew who he was when he pulled out the Queen of winn business card. He gave me a lot of vital advice and tips on how to become a better videographer which was really cool of him.

You can see there cosplay vid of the day here:

The Saturday event actually became so packed that they didn't let people back in. Even if they payed! That was the scale of how many peepz were there. It was hype yo!

Here are mine:

I still have a lot of improving to do but i will get there!

Finally!

My canon has arrived. After a lot of issues with its transportation to the u.k i finally have it. It's a lot heavier than my digi cam, hahaha.I also got a flycam nano with it since i plan on doing some videography with it.

The cam arrived on wednesday if i can remember correctly which  has given me enough time to figure how to harness all its tools and thingy majigs in time for Hyperjapan which i'll be attending this sat and sun.
The size of the cam.. especially with it attached to the flycam nano will be a challenge in itself to use especially in busy places. A challenge I'm well up for!

Wish me luck peepz and hope to see you all there!

Animecon / tourney sunday

I was told by a couple of mates that a persona tourney was going to happen @ the london animecon event. Me being the freebie hunter that i am decided to go check it out.

I was shocked and amazed at the turnout this year. In the 3-4 years i have been going i have never seen such a big turnout. Animecon still has hope! If it keeps bringing people in and expanding it could be as big as many other well known anime, video game events.
It was good to see cosplayers as well as other peepz playing side by side together and having a good time but i digress don't i?

Me and my mates intentions were to go in and win the tournies which we set out to win; and did. I placed 1st in persona followed by the bawss of a persona player "stealth" who got 2nd, cheerful dude Jmiller landed 1st at streetfighter which was gd to see and Captain Nippon landed 4th @ persona. Captain Nippon has improved immensely and i'll always be there to help him and any other good friends improve, it was good to see him playing a lot better and adapting to matches.

Somehow apparently the event people who hosted the tournies "lost the prizes" and will "send it to us". This isn't the 1st time mishap has happened at animecon. The gaming events there seem a bit of a scramble.

Mah boi Edwin, a pretty gd "marvel vs capcom 3", "chaos code" player was there to support the company he works for at the event "namco".He was hard at work promoting 'tales of xilia' but when he was done had some free time to chill with us.

All in all it was a great day. Those prizes bettah come through my door though! blah! "sits infront of door for a couple of decades"

Time to lvl up and get a Canon!

Camera wise that is! For a long time now i've been using a measly digital camera; those small, unprofessional looking ones however the camera stabilizer i attach it to when filming balances out that "lol he's using a digi cam" sense.

Here's an example of a vid i created with my digi cam:

Not bad ay?

But then there's ones like these....

The content in this vid is great but "why is the quality so bad?" i know you're thinking. I'm honestly not sure myself. Maybe i zoomed in too much which reduced the quality or youtubes recent video player update destroyed the quality since it seems to have great quality when i rendered it :S and as a file.

Nonetheless this is a great excuse for me to get a canon.

The Digi cam has been put to great use and has had served me well but now it's time for me to lvl up to DSLR's, canon preferably.

I've been researching a ton of canons and have finally come to the conclusion of which one i'll be getting. It should last me a good amount of years ( If i don't eat it or something o_O).

Now is the time for me to take my photography to the next lvl and start taking it a bit more seriously, while still having fun.

If i am to progress I must get it!

Better late than never. RAWR!

Hey you lot. I've finally created a blog. Here I'll be talking to you guys about what i encounter in my gaming, photography, music adventures since there have been so much i've been wanting to tell people with similar interests and hobbies as me but i'll leave those for now and talk about the present as well as the future.

I can't wait to share the upcoming experiences of places i'll be attending soon. So stick around and get comfy!
